WEEK 3: Introduction to Photoshop 2
- Lasso Tool
Allows you to make selections by drawing on specific areas you want. It is great to use with a graphic tablet because it is similar to a pencil. The three types of Lasso Tool options are:
- Lasso Tool – Freehand drawing
- Polygonal Lasso Tool – Makes straight-edged selections
- Magnetic Lasso Tool – Snaps to the edges of objects automatically
- Pen Tool

- Helps you draw accurate shapes and lines ("paths").
- It works by clicking to add "anchor points" and dragging to make curves.
- Fewer points = smoother lines.
- Variation of Pen Tool
1. Straight Line Paths

2. U-shaped curves

WEEK 3: Paths, Masking, Layering
In Week 3's instructional session, we were given an in-depth demonstration on how to create a digital collage using Adobe Photoshop. I can now select the section of the image I want to cut out by first using the pen tool and changing the selection to "shape" rather than "path". Mr. Fauzi also introduced us to The Bézier Game to build our muscle memory in mastering the pen tool.

4.0 REFLECTION
The Bézier Game is essential in helping us to build muscle memory when using the Pen Tool in order to make smooth lines in Adobe softwares. Although it was challenging when trying to complete the shapes in the game, it is good practice to refine our skills when using the Pen Tool. While I was doing the digital collage task, I had fun exploring different composition techniques to use for different collage, such as the golden ratio and the rule of thirds. It is also my first time using Adobe Photoshop to create a collage, which helped me to familiarise myself with the software. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the outcome of the digital collages.
