Techniques applied in this task:- Overall Visual Design:
- Pen Tool (Bezier handles - smooth/ corner) - To draw the background composition and shapes for shadow and highlight
- Shape Builder Tool - Clean up overlapping lines
- Width Tool - Adjust thickness of lines to create more line variations
- Scale Stroke & Effects - To maintain consistent lines and details
- LivePaint Tool - Create LivePaint Group to fill in colour
- Eyedropper Tool - To select colour
- Gradient Tool - Apply gradient to the elements of the background composition
- Framing Technique - Composition arrangement using the sakura trees
- Animation Design:
- Position [P] - Background movement, sakura petals falling movement
- Rotation [R] - Sakura petals falling movement
- Puppy Position Pin Tool [Cmd+P] - Maneki cat movement, sakura tree movement
- CC Cylinder Effect (Rotation X, Y, Z) - 3D rotation effect for sakura petals falling
- Easy Ease - Make animation smoother

3.0 REFLECTION
3.1 Experience
Personally, it was amusing finding out what the CC Cylinder Effect can do for the animation. I like how using this effect gave the petals a more 3D falling effect, making the movement stand out more. I got to use After Effects for the first time because of this task, and although it can be confusing at first, it gets a bit easier once I got the hang of it.
3.2 Areas for Improvement
I think the colour scheme could be improved as I think the overall design still lacks a bit of harmony. I need to work on my sense of space as well as the composition also lacks more depth. In terms of animation, I think making the lanterns move along with the sakura tree might make the animation a lot more realistic.
